Scherer, Bertha née Kaufmann

Bertha Kaufmann was born in Sinsheim on August 19, 1883.

Her parents were the merchant Marx Kaufmann (1847-1916) from Ladenburg and his wife Mathilde née Maier (1855-1940) from Malsch.

Bertha married the merchant Max Scherer (1873 - 1947) from Sinsheim in Ladenburg on  September 12, 1905.

The couple had one daughter, Mathilde (1907 - 1981), who married Karl Lichtenstein (1899 - 1957) in 1928. 

Max had a prosperous clothes shop in Sinsheim Bahnhofstraße.

The couple could escape to the USA in 1939. 

Bertha died in University Heights OH on January 19, 1959.
