Scherer, Josef

Josef Scherer was born in Sinsheim on August 2, 1906.

His parents were the master baker Moritz Scherer (1878 - 1965) from Sinsheim and his wife Anna née Dreifuß (1880 - 1916) from Kuppenheim.

He trained to become a baker and became a master baker in 1932. Due to the Nazi restrictions he could not take over his father's business. 

During "Crystal night" he was sent to the Dachau concentration camp.

In October 1940 he was deported to the Gurs internment camp.

In 1942 he was murdered in the Auschwitz extermination camp.
