Reinach, Leopold
Leopold Reinach was born in Sinsheim on October 14, 1885.
His parents were the baker Kaufmann (Karl) Reinach (1842 - 1906) from Sinsheim and his wife Auguste née Bär (1843 - 1924) from Untergrombach.
He married Bertha Oppenheimer (1887 - 1974) from Hemsbach on August 21, 1912 in Hemsbach.
They had two children, Kurt Karl (*1915) and Ilse Irene Jeanette (*1919).
Leopold's bakery was in the Hauptstraße. In 1935 he was imprisoned in the Kislau concentration camp and in 1938 in the Dachau concentration camp. The bakery was closed and the family moved to Heidelberg.
In 1939 Leopold and Bertha escaped to New York, where Karl had already arrived in 1937 and Ilse in 1938.
Leopold died in New York on November 1, 1972.
