Scherer, Moritz

Moritz Scherer was born in Sinsheim on February 12, 1878.

His parents were the trader Wolf Scherer (1836 - 1924) from Sinsheim and his wife Johanna née Bauer (1842 - 1924) from Eschelbach.

Moritz married Anna Dreyfuß (1878 - 1916) from Kuppenheim in 1905. They had 4 children: Joseph (1906 - 1942), Kurt (1908 - 1944), Margarethe (1910 - ) and  Alice (1913 - 1942). After Anna's death he married Mina Kaufman (1886 - 1936) from Zaberfeld. The couple had one son, Viktor Ludwig (1920- 1996).

In 1936 Moritz sold his house and bakery in the Haupstraße to the baker Heinrich Frick.

In 1938 he fled to Palestine.

Moritz died in Israel on Mai 26, 1965.
